Soooo
Amsterdam has a lot of great aspects: beautiful tulips, museams, architecture…
but possibly my favorite part of the trip was the food. I loved it all. Here's a little bonus post about some of our favourites from the trip!
Prepare
yourself for unnecessary food pics.
Coffee & Coconuts
Possibly
the cutest little café EVER. Sooo many juices, coffees, and smoothie choices
PLUS some of the coolest interior design I’ve ever seen in a café: I could’ve spent
all day in here. We went here twice it was so good!!
Stroopwafels
Dutch wafels
sent from the gods. I don't even want to describe them as no words will do them
justice but here it goes… A stroopwafel
is a waffle made from two thin layers of baked dough with a caramel syrup
filling in the middle.
Frites
Okay,
these were basically just French fries covered in mayo, but it just so happens
that is exactly how I like my fries. We got along just fine.
Café Berkhout
This
place is right across the street from the Heineken Experience, so we stopped in
for a quick bite before our tour. We both ordered a panini that would go down
as one of the greatest sandwiches I’ve ever had. This bacon, brie, pear, honey
concoction of deliciousness will not be forgotten. <3
I also
decided to try one of the “fruity” Dutch beers on the menu and was pleasantly
surprised by the adorable and delicious pink drink.
Bakers &
Roasters
Another
cute brunch-y place that deserves mention, if for no other reason than they put
up with our shenanigans at an early hour in the morning. They introduced us to
a new type of cheese called Halloumi (which was quite great) and the food was
delicious! So delicious in fact that I don't think we stopped to take any
pictures before digging in.
Jackets
A restaurant
dedicated solely to baked potatoes. Genius.
PANCAKES
Amsterdam
Dutch
Pancakes are AMAZING. We ordered sweet variations, since we ~obviously~ hadn’t already
had enough sugar on this trip. I got a salted caramel banana pancake, and I’m
pretty sure I died and went to pancake heaven. I bought a t-shirt it was so
good.
Waffles and
Crepes
They’re everywhere
and they’re covered in Nutella. Do I even need to say more?
And
that concludes our mini food tour of Amsterdam, thanks for checkin’ it out!
